| A perfect artist or writer's retreat, Song of the River, in Pancho Ancho, is located on the Rio Cuale River. You can hear the river from every room. A beautiful garden is surrounded by a 10-foot wall providing seclusion for swimming and relaxing. Song of the River is located off the beaten path but still close to everything Puerto Vallarta has to offer. It is 3 miles from the Old Town but you may find yourself immersed in watching and listening to the River as it flows in front of the house or star gazing in what seems like your own planetarium as you sit by the pool at night.
This area is more of the real Mexico where one sees horses, chickens in the road and barefoot children. If you truly want to getaway from the hustle and bustle and experience the real Mexico, this is the place for you. It is wonderful to be two people with the spacious property and it is also a wonderful house for two couples, for the two large bedrooms are on either end with kitchen and living room in between.
There is bus service which passes the house every 15 to 20 minutes or you can take a 30 minute walk to the ocean.
